It's important to remember that the whole football demographic has changed. Chelsea is very middle class now, for example. I remember going there in the late 80s and it was very, very different. To judge these demographic changes based on female attendance in isolation is misleading.

Much more commercial. With women's general tendency to enjoy shopping trips maybe that is part of the attraction and reason so many more are attending these days. Would be interesting to get hold of some statistics of sales from the big clubs' megastores to see what percentage of female fans are buying merchandise. |

So women go to football to buy in the shop as they prefer shopping. Wtaf. My mum went for 60 years. Don’t think she ever went in the club shop. Both my girls have gone for years and years. Not being wummish at all Turbo. Look at the big six and the people who attend their games nowadays, as well as their millions of fans around the world. A huge percentage are female nowadays and the merchandising men and the advertising agencies know this. Men are often a bit grumpy in the way they spend their hard earned cash but women sometimes throw it out the window. It excites them and gets their hormones pumped up. Shopping is a a lifestyle. Either a cupboard full of shoes and handbags or a cupboard full of Chelski regalia. Going to the match is just the cherry on the cake. Hello all my instagram followers!

I see the content of this thread is proving popular on DATM, apparently it's a hotbed of hate on here because somebody has questioned the authenticity of a poster - quite rightly in my opinion. For the record, nobody is getting banned, I would always prefer posters to ignore obvious wums - even the ones that are quoting posts from this forum, then trying to stir things up on DATM. Even though I do find the desperation for an argument quite amusing. ;-) It's likely its that toad off DATM. Blokes a fucking sad man.
