When he announced he’d got pancreatic cancer I sent him a message of support as it was what killed my old man in about 12 months.
He gave it a right fight as something like 4% manage 5 years after diagnosis. His approach is what I really loved though. Fight it head on, fuck it attitude.
Unfortunately I never spent time in his company, but from everything he wrote he had my attitude to life. Enjoy life, travel well, eat well and don’t give a flying fook what anyone else thinks.
RIP oti. In this little part of the world you will be sadly missed

RIP. Terrible news. One of life's characters. I never met him, but we exchanged a lot of PMs.

I'm pleased at least that it seems he got to go how he wanted, in a place that brought him peace.
Goodbye Oti.

Sad sad news.
He should have been rightly proud to the end on how he fought this terrible disease. Many would crumble but the way he remained stoic and determined it wouldn't stop him living his life how he chose to for as long as possible was inspiring .
And that was Oti...he was his own man. He gave his opinions and said his piece regardless of the response he would get in return. He had a right to be himself and had contempt for those that thought they had the right to stop him...as it should be. He lived his life exactly how he wanted to. Cancer wasn't going to stop him doing that for a moment longer than he could hold it at bay. And what a life he had. He certainly crammed a lot in. These last few weeks in India, a place and people he loved, I doubt he'll have looked back and come up with too many things he'd wished he'd done, or places he wished he'd seen. Not many will do that.
Out of pain now lad. RIP
