I know a lot of people are now tired of partygate and think it’s timed we moved on, after all there are far more important things to worry about - if you are one of them I’m sure Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson aka BJ is grateful because that’s exactly what he was wanting.
The PM announces new laws for the country due to Covid, whatever you think of them the fact is they were set in stone and I bet every single person on here was either impacted directly or knows family and friends that were, not being able to attend weddings, funerals, kid’s graduation events, not able to visit poorly and in some cases terminal relatives in hospital and care homes etc etc.
The latest photos showing the PM with glass in hand, several wine and gin bottles on the table along with pizzas, bowls of crisps and the like, giving a talk to nine other people in attendance in the same room.
That same day he announced that no more than two people were allowed to gather, no more than two and yet he’s there with nine, bizarrely only one of those have been fined ?
It’s well documented and proven that he attended several different events like the latest one yet when first asked in the House of Commons “Did you attend any parties that broke the rules, rules that you laid down, during the Covid lockdown ?” at first he simply said no.
You may not give a toss if a politician attend a party, after all they were working very hard and long hours, so why not, I didn’t always follow the rules, that’s your right but be aware any MP, never mind Government Minister, who knowingly lies to the House is duty bound to resign. To be found to lie to the House is a greater offence for an MP than any rule breaking at parties.
Of course when a simple no was shown to not cover him it was changed to I did attend work meetings but not any parties and when they was exposed it became I did attend these events but wasn’t aware they were parties. So that’s ok then, next time you get pulled over by the police for a speeding offence just tell them you weren’t aware what the limit was and you’ll be let off ?
His next tactic to let it become old news is to announce an independent investigation, he chose Damien Green who was “impartial” but he had to stand down in favour of Sue Grey because he had attended one on the non parties being investigated !
Then BJ is found guilty by the Met Police and him and his wife issued with a fine, but no need to resign, we’ve got to sort inflation and the Russians out, far more important than partygate and anyway let’s wait to hear what the Sue Grey report has to say.
Then BJ’s office contacts Sue Grey and asks for an informal talk about the contents of her report before its publication, Sue Grey agrees and gives a list of dates when she would be available. The media find out about this meeting and obviously want to know who called it, BJ’s office announce it was Sue Grey, look this email shows she wanted to meet on these dates ??
And the purpose of this meeting ? Well the PM claims the public have had enough, the Met Police have finished their investigation and won’t be giving out any more fines the press and media have told everything there is to tell so why not just drop it, there’s nothing to be gained by publishing??
For the record I’m naturally a Tory voter, apart from after Major I went for Blair and Labour, for his first term only, not his second, I would have “anyone” to make sure Jeremy Corbin didn’t get in and now I’m living in Spain I’m not convinced Kier Starmer is the right man, however I know for certain you can not have a PM who acts like a Donald Trump Lite.
