Seemingly both deals now completed, it’s not often good players leave and I don’t wish them well, Craig Maskell (Blimey it must be 30 years ago !!) joining Reading was one example and before my time Cherry to Beeston would have been another example but Notts are now on a par with Beeston for me and as such I hope the pair of them come back down next season with 20 points and a -100 goal difference.
No doubt Brizzle fans with Stuart and Reading with Williams joining us after play off defeats were less than impressed but at least in both games we as fans weren’t obnoxious gits with them.

It's a bit like if we'd signed Liam Lawrence instead of Junior Mendes!

Lingard, no transfer fee, 3 years or 156 weeks at reported £180k a week (no doubt plus signing on fee, goal and appearance bonus etc etc) = 156 x 180 = £28Million
LO’B, £9M transfer, 3 years at guess £30k a week = 156 x 30 = (£4.7M + £9M) = £13.7Million
Toffolo, £1M transfer, 3 years at guess £25k a week = 156 x 25 = (£3.9M + £1M) = £4.9Million
All back of a fag packet stuff but it shows you that your Sky TV money is the definition of easy come, easy go !

Also thank f he didn't sign an extended contract with Town...as he'd now be undeservedly our highest paid player, and protected by a contract that meant that Forest would have to pay a lot more than they did for a player starting the final year of his existing contract (doubt they'd have signed Toffolo if he was tied to a 4 year contract that effectively valued him at £6-8m for example).

If it ends up going wrong for Forest, it is going to be quite spectacular! It'll make their near neighbours Derby seem financially stable.

Its crazy, I'm sure we could have offered him £300 a week and secured his services? Amazing really that he's so desperate to play football that he'll do it for minimum wage!

So Jesse, what made you go for Forest when both Everton and West Ham were in for you ? If ever there was a transfer that was 100% about money it's this one.
