Depends how you read the data and over what timeframe... Driest UK August on record (so far) was in 1947. If there's a climate EMERGENCY and continuing risk of droughts driven by modern mans behaviours, you'd expect many more recent drier Augusts than one that occurred 75 years ago? The wettest August day on record was in 2020. If there's a climate EMERGENCY in relation to droughts, then you'd expect the wettest August on record to be much further back in time than just 2 years ago? Even the MetOffice talk about "evidence of considerable natural variability on annual to multi- decadal timescales". www.metoffice.gov.uk/binaries/content/assets/metofficegovuk/pdf/research/ukcp/ukcp18_headline_findings_v3.pdfThe so-called Little Ice Age ended not much more than a 100 years ago - of course we should expect some warming. Its *NOT AN EMERGENCY / CRISIS / CATASTROPHE or any of the other alarmist words used that de-rail sensible conversation.
