Wasn't this the same situation Ched Evans got into? 2 football players in a hotel room with a girl claiming she was too drunk to consent, yet looked perfectly fine on the CCTV when she went to collect the pizza from the hotel reception?
I wonder how much of it seemed a good idea at the time, but in the morning, regret starts sinking in and a rape claim makes the victim able to transfer all blame.
