Partly offensive, partly irritating....the disproportionate number of ethnic minorities in TV ads, and some programmes....eg.last night's "Grace", the Brighton-based cop show.
And regarding this genre, the baddy/s is/are invariably white (like last night)....even when ethnic minority suspects are flagged up during the prog. Now and again, no problem....but too frequently, and it smacks of attempts at social conditioning. And that is why I find the trend offensive.

We pulled up to walk the dog at a local beauty spot on Sunday, just as we did a black man pulled in, seemingly disgruntled at us being there. He got out, alone, with no dog and started to walk down the path. My mother who was with us became concerned by the reasons he may be walking alone, not dressed for a walk, down a quiet secluded track. I assured her just because he was black it doesn't always mean it will be for reasons of malice. Ow how wrong I was.
Afte our short walk and return to our vehicles, the parking area and adjacent road were strewn with bags and bags of fast food litter (kfc) and a bin bag of household waste. The reason he was upset at our presence is because we halted his littering. He got out and walked down the path to have us believe he was a rambler. Once we were out of site he quickly returned and disposed of his waste. Littering is my biggest hate. Fortunetly, mother been mother Houses a dashcam on her yaris and I was able to just capture a reg plate. Forwarded to the village parish council notifying of said cretin.

I think there's a difference between what generally hacks me off in life & what actually offends me. I truly can't think of many things that offend me, but plenty that aggravates me. My starter for 10 would be the young lass who parked in the disabled bay (that being the only space left I assume when she got there) at Birchencliffe Tesco the other morning so she could eat a sandwich & have a fag, clearly oblivious to the fact that someone who was probably fairly obviously a blue badge user had to park further away. I try to avoid using overtly sexist language so if she caught me on dashcam calling her, I believe it was, a "selfish f***ing cow" then I suppose I might be in a bit of bother.
