Fk me I didn’t see that coming ! Two weeks ago on WACCOE one of theirs said he’d head he was going but of course he got short shrift from the Town fans, wonder if he did know or it was a lucky guess ?
It also reads in the official press release that Danny Schofield is the replacement not just the caretaker. Wow !

Absolute joke back to NO vision and NO ambition, this season might really be lucky to avoid relegation. They couldn't even be arsed to find an experienced replacement just gone for the very cheap option. Not spending my hard earned, watching a club with no soul.

Did an outstanding job with a squad that wasn't the greatest but the football was average at best, good luck to him and we move on, looks like Danny Schofield will be first team coach for now.

www.htafc.com/news/2022/july/club-statement-carlos-corberan-resigns/“Danny Schofield will now step up to lead the team. He knows the Club, the players, our coaching programme, and our structure as well as anyone and is ideally positioned to give us continuity. Danny is highly rated and well respected across football and, this summer, turned down an opportunity to become Head Coach of a club in the top division of a European league because he believes in what we’re doing here. His work at our Club has been outstanding, and he’s earned this opportunity.
No mention of Caretaker

Suspect Danny Schofield is on trial to be the new manager.

Would love to understand the real reason. This stinks. Miracles last season and not even with expensive big name signings. Clearly we’ve failed to back (and I don’t think he needed unrealistic money to continue his work when you consider another 8 figure fee likely for O Brien)
Very sad day for the club

Would love to understand the real reason. This stinks. Miracles last season and not even with expensive big name signings. Clearly we’ve failed to back (and I don’t think he needed unrealistic money to continue his work when you consider another 8 figure fee likely for O Brien) Very sad day for the club Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Ask yourself how likely CC would have been to replicate the incredible success of last season with the same squad. Highly unlikely. It was a one-off. He's seen that, he's ambitious, he's also seen what happened to his mentor Bielsa after he'd had unexpected success with a team that was better than its individuals. Without big investment (that he has known from day zero we're never going to have, and he's been happy working with that condition and working with the squad made available to him) - then the overwhelmingly high likelihood is this coming season will be lesser than last season...he'd manage the same squad to 10 or 15th if the season was repeated 8 times out of 10. An ambitious manager doesn't want that - most of them hang on until they're sacked, we should probably thank him for that. He's completed his journey with us, and needs to find a different challenge. Not much Huddersfield Town can do about that, other than finding a £10-15m transfer pot to shift the squad level - we aren't going to get that money made available to spend, even if O'Brien, Toffolo and Sorba left - and when you consider the impact those players have on the squad, it becomes difficult even to get back to where we were, spending £10m+ to replace those players with 'highly likely to be as good or better' players. Schofield has been involved with the 1st team squad for the last couple of seasons. He's soaked up Corberans ideas over longer than that stretching back to his time at Leeds, there's a continuation here. And for Schofield, being a 1st team coach and finishing 10th or 15th is not a step backwards, so if he holds the same values as CC, he sees this as a positive position to come into...(although the fans won't see it like that). He's the manager. We aren't changing it any time soon. Best suck it up and support the team, they're going to need it. Personally I think its a better appointment than bringing in someone who would have higher expectation (personally and from fans), where that expectation is most likely going to be missed, for all the same reasons that Carlos has decided its the end of his journey. A 'better' replacement manager would be gone within the year. Schofield will get that first year gimme (that Covid granted to Corberan). The Huddersfield Town journey continues.
