Just two games in and Town are bottom of the league. Official! Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Is there hope on the horizon? Is there cheese on the moon? More importantly is there a future in the Championship for Huddersfield Town?

It looks pretty grim.
We were largely toothless going forward last season (only scored two more than 17th placed Bristol), pretty much the whole reason we ended up in 3rd was the half decent defence.
That defensive unit was the main turnaround from the prior seasons struggle.
But we’ve lost Colwill, Toffolo, Pipa, Sarr (and you can kind of add Pearson to that) as options and brought in REG and Boyle (and Yuta who is potentially impressive but isn’t getting on the pitch for unknown reasons).
Replacing 4 and a half players with two who are definitely not as good, and otherwise using players who couldn’t force their way above those who left last season, and it’s no great surprise we’re going to ship goals this time…and all drilled by someone who seems out of his depth to a similar extent that Siewert was, I’d expect discontent behind the scenes.
Let’s face it, it was a miracle Burnley didn’t bag 3 in the first half alone…I listened to first half v Brum and barely heard our players mentioned. Second half watched on TV, we had spells, but continued to gift chances at the back.
As things stand, can’t see us being anything other than 16th or lower, and with a hint risk of “doing a Barnsley”.

This, they also contributed a good few goals from set pieces, we are definitely weaker in defence this season.

Yes, I'd not really even factored in the limited goal threat our defenders now contribute compared to last season 😞
So, not only are we *significantly* weaker defensively, but we've reduced our attacking threat too. Colwil, Sarrl and Toffolo scored 11 last season from that left side of our defence, Yuta is a potential wildcard of course, but I'm pretty confident I could say now that REG, Boyle and Ruffles won't score 11 this season.

Town's season finally kicks off! Decent result....I gather we had a few good performances in the first half, lost our way a bit into the second. But then enjoyed the novelty of two strikers' goals to seal the win.
And now just 2 points off the play-offs!!

Let's not get carried away , whilst it was a dubious penalty they were given there were 2 big decisions that went our way.the disallowed goal for stoke was onside and Dwayne Holmes was a mile offside for our 3rd. Delighted with 3 points but feel a little lucky.

Holmes is possibly marginally offside, it’s a lot closer than it seemed.

Yes, Holmes is not a mile off , he certainly looked to be at first. I still think Gayle is on though. Good job I'm not a ref or lino.

I had a £20 softener bet for Town to go down at 12/1.
Sky offered me £54 to cash out after the 3-1 Stoke game, so I took it. I still have my bets on Town to be top 4 and for promotion on.

More importantly is there a future in the Championship for Huddersfield Town? Well, at least we're not still bottom...thanks to Coventry's pitch!
