You think we are?? I can't see that at all. Not for this strain of omicron anyway. Think the fear factor has all but gone now and even the BBC would struggle to whip it up again. Everyone knows its basically like a bad cold.. or very mild flu. Think the most wed get ( or tolerate ) is having to wear masks in certain places like hospitals again. Funny you mention Hospitals my wife returned from visiting her 92year old Dad 10 mins ago. She has been doing so for the past week. He has been moved from ward 9 where there was no mention of bloody covid. Turned up to visit him in ward 10 and wasn't allowed because of covid. Dewsbury hospital by the way.

I believe hospitals have been instructed by NHS England to return to pre- covid regulations, but it seems many have ignored that. Or sort of half ignored it. When I was visiting my mother in law in Lincoln hospital a few weeks ago it was this odd mix of measures depending on where in the hospital you were. First ward was full on.. masks gowns sanitiser and only one visitor at a time for no more than an hour a day. As she deteriorated she was then moved to a ward full of more severely ill people where none of that applied. In the corridors some staff wore a mask, some didnt.
there didnt seem to be any universal policy at all with people just making it up as they saw fit.

Update on my Father in Law. He's now got Covid! So he's been moved to ward 15 the Covid ward. By the way he's had four jabs so they have really worked!

Previous jabs arent going to stop you getting new variants. It doesnt mean they didnt work on the previous ones,,, they clearly did. Might help you fend off new variants though... give your immune system a head start.
Its why you dont get a flu jab when youre 50 and never have to have one again.
Best wishes to your father in law though.

Hmmm...all the Covid vaccines do is "increase the likelihood of reducing your suffering in the event you catch Covid"*, they don't prevent you from catching the virus, or being contagious to others in the other direction...so not really sure you can jump to that wry conclusion? (especially since (I hope?🤞🏻), he's not particularly suffering from Covid symptoms). *With various caveats on waning efficiency over time and them not being 100% successful in all cases etc etc.

This thread will no doubt soon be lumbering back to activity again....perhaps as the Covid+Flu thread.
