111 Afghans coming to the UK to live so GIRLS can play football.
Has the world really gone so stark, raving mad?
Another dumb gesture.
How about the 250,000 Afghan troops who have been fighting the Taliban, should not they have more priority?
We are responsible for NONE of these people anyway.
Just what Britain needs right now...another 111 unskilled and pointless Moslems who will add nothing to Britain and cost millions we no longer have.
The standard of football will be the equivalent of a British high school 12 year old boys team. Its not elite sport, its just fun.
They have three single goal wins in 5 years against Cambodia, Bangladesh and Indonesia. They are so bad they have never played a ranked team in their history.

Why have Johnson and Patel the right to decide who comes to live in Britain? Where is this enshrined in law? Surely its a court matter. This hollow gesture embarrasses the country, populist, puerile nonsense. The Qataris have thousands of Afghans in camps, they are teaching them English because (and i quote Al Jazeera) they are likely to end up in English speaking countries!!!! WHY? Why, in 2021 cant every brit have a online vote in matters such as these. The techs available to do so. It would take a day. A referendum for matters such as these. Why does it lay on our shoulders to provide for and live amongst packs of marauding raping somalians, and female afghan football players who will never do a days solid graft again.

Where is your reasoning? My reasoning is based on the fact we needed translators , we made promises, not just the UK , all the western forces. And we left them for dead. They helped the West against their own to try and root out ISIS and the Taliban. I don't know anything about 36 k a year , it seems absurd tbh. But they didn't pick up a gun they helped us based on what seems very empty promises. I think we are morally bound to help . |

What about the thousands on patrol fighting alongside British troops? All those against the Taliban full-stop, the civil servants, the tribal leaders, the Army suppliers? Its not a bottomless pit nor is the country able to take care of its own never mind MILLIONS of others. Our propensity to spurious charity leaves us open and abused. 1000 sneaked in to Britain today.....one woman with a new born made the headlines....the 999 angry young men did not. We dont have the room, the time, the money, the housing or the facilities but the government continues to borrow on YOUR behalf to pay for all this. If the government sent you a bill for £120,000 tomorrow how would you feel about uncontrolled immigration then? Thats what YOU owe, believe me, all borrowed without asking you....and you WILL have to pay it. You are aware we went in to World War 2 to defend Poland? Don't come the people like me line. I disagree when you said we don't owe ANY Afghans anything. I think that there are SOME that we do. As for the boat people I'd take the Australian stance. And as far as i,m aware after ww 2 we defeated the Nazis so eastern Europe was free. People left were free. We didn't defeat the taliban and people left will be killed.

I'm with Niggled on this, we DO have a duty to civilians who worked for us in Afghanistan, we don't have a duty to anyone else .We spent million training the Afghan army to fight the Taliban/Isis and they seemed to vanish overnight so no , we owe them nothing and the womens football team ,thats just bollox.
I believe we have taken in 15,000 and many will be English speaking, we keep getting told we have a labour shortage so shouldn't these people be located in areas where we need them, also the hospitality industry is crying out for workers , if they are to live here they need to work, not be on benefits.
I've already made my feelings clear regarding the Dinghy invasion, we owe them nothing and it's time for Johnson to deploy the navy and put an end to this madness

I dont see a way out of the dinghy invasion situation. If we deploy the navy what do they do. Tow them back to france? The UK wont risk severing ties with our closest neighbour and allie surely? Without sinking and drowning the occupants what's the way.
The only thing I believe is plausible is lining the south coast with border personnel, build a large camp with a runway and immediately flying them back to their countrys of origin. No appeals, no delays. If they have no id then build a separate camp where they will be detained for life and used as community labour. 3 square meals, and a clean safe bed, but no release. Never. They will soon stop coming and find alternate asylum elsewhere.

What a mess, 8 million facing starvation, 4 billion $$$ required urgently, no great surprise though, why would an organisation like the Taliban know how to run a Country. We can't sit back and let all these people starve but dealing with the taliban won't go down well with western governments, what's the answer ?
